Home

Best laid plans.

Everything is against us on our last leg. Underground trains conspired against us. And two tired weary travellers plod their few final steps home. Two more trains instead of one.
11 in total!
Thanks all. It was great fun.
Boys holiday next year is to the moon. Apparently!

Gifts and gratuities.

Train 8.
Torin is so polite and kind that he is getting presents from every member of staff on every train.
We have now collected one Deutsche Bahn bus and two Deutsche Bahn trains. As well as a large collection of comics colouring books and pencils.

Off the rails

We couldn't get back to sleep. So, after two hours of tossing and turning and discussing where we were going next year on boy's holiday, we got up. We washed, finished packing and went downstairs.
Andrea had made us lots of treats to take on our journey. And Torin had a goodbye present of a football and a water pistol. Matthew drove us to the station via the drive in bakery to pick up some pretzels to take home to PG.
The sun was just coming up as we got to the platform.

And now we are on train 7. Heading to Frankfurt.

Famous Belgians

An hour to kill in Brussels.
Soaking up the cafe culture with a quick drink before the next drink.
Very tired. Slept twice on the train already.

Penultimate train

Miles is determined to make this blog last until the end of the holiday.
Therefore.
After picking up a present for PG in Brussels we had a small wait before heading back into the tunnel on our 9th train of the holiday.

Too darn hot

Ok.
3 in the morning.
Difficult to get comfortable.
Need to be up in two hours.
On a train all day.
Not good.
